About 30 minutes from the nearest highway, sitting on top of a galiant hillside, was where we would call home for the next three days- the picturesque, Corsican village of Belgodere. Due to its position on the hill crest, Belgodere had very far-reaching views over the entire Regino Valley, unmissable as soon as you step into the central square but also seen best from the castle ruins at it’s highest point. We were lucky enough to stay in the home next to the well known Saint Thomas Church, the oldest building in the village. Large and completely made of stone, it had been in the owner’s family for over 600 years and had the most quaint terrace for morning teas and the perfection of fresh crossiants.
